ARTIST IN RESIDENCY

ABU DHABI ART HUB, Australian Art Month (2013)
Artist in Residency Program

This Residency was open for established artists, working in the fields of visual arts (painting, drawing, sculpture, graphic art), contemporary art (collage, assemblage, mixed-media, video art), decorative arts & crafts (ceramics, mosaic art, tapestry, glass art) and other types of applied art (graphic design, fashion design, etc.).

The Art Residency included a working space, accommodation, gallery space as well as technical support and assistance with public relations.  In addition, the Abu Dhabi Art Hub not just offered the artists the possibility to meet local residents and potential interested arts commissioners but also to participate in university programs and experience the intricacies of life in the UAEas well as taking part of a final exhibit opening (attended by high representative partners), where artists got a chance to showcase their artwork created during the residency stay.

During this month I created four paintings, a mural painting and conducted one painting workshop.

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA (2012)
Artist in Residency Program

The Ownership Project promotes artists from newly arrived migrant, refugee and Indigenous Australian communities. I was invited to participate of an Artist in Residency Program and to create a series of printings around a specific topic in 2012.

In a period of 2 months I develop the series Faςade,  woodcut reductions on Magnani paper recalling memories of my home towns in Colombia:  facades of old colonial style houses reflecting the passing of time,  the painting peeling off the walls, textures and reliefs holding stories. These prints were exhibited at  The Ownership Project Gallery in December 2012
